He’s beautiful Maura. We get foxes around here, usually right around dawn, running down the middle of the street. Further east we have coyotes, but they are often in the distance and you don’t get a really good look at them.
Eldest son gets all sorts of cool animals on the USAFA campus…eagles, falcons, turkeys, moose, elk, deer, mountain lions and loads of the smaller critters that live in the woods. However, I can tell you from experience that rounding a corner and coming face to face with a herd of elk is not a positive experience! And any animal that big gets the right of way.
I wish we could find a way to co-exist without destroying so much habitat. Sigh.
That’s cool, if a little scary. I took my kids to school one day last year and there was one slinking down the street. I live NOWHERE near any kind of wilderness. It amazes me that they’re right here with me in the city as well. I worry, because the neighborhood loses pets. Cool pix. I wish we could co-exist as well.
Wooooow, Cool!
by Selena Illyria February 21st, 2009 at 3:29 pmThat is so cool. We have deer and raccoons who visit us in the evenings, but no coyotes here. He’s lovely.

He is very cool! We have bear, wolves, bear, and fox around but I don’t have any shots. I’ve only actually heard the wolves, thank God…lol

I wish I lived in a place where I could see wild animals like that.

by Savanna Kougar February 23rd, 2009 at 12:56 amWe have, at least, one coyote pack here, on the tame prairie.
I here there hunting yips and howls. It’s eerie sometimes.
