Cause I know you all are DYING to hear about it :)
I do have rosacea. My primary care doctor put me on metrogel to start and referred me to a dermatologist. I’ll be calling to make an appointment with the dermatologist on Monday. It can take up to six weeks to show the full effects of a new therapy so I started the metrogel right away and we’ll see what happens. In the meantime, any moisturizer or cleanser I put on my face that stings is going in the trash, no matter how much I liked it or how expensive. I need to find a sunscreen that doesn’t hurt, though.
So no sun, no heat, no hot drinks, no saunas, no hot tubs. Nothing hot. Mutter.
I’m glad I went to my eye doctor as well, I also have ocular rosacea that’s affecting my eyes. He put me on an topical eye ointment (steroid + antibiotic) to bring down the swelling and I see him again next Friday. He’s trying to get the swelling under control so we can treat the chronic issue. Joy.
I also need to call my sleep doctor. I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea about 4-5 years ago and had been wearing a mouthpiece to control it but my dentist is moving my teeth around and I can’t wear it – in the meantime I’m always exhausted and my blood pressure is slowly creeping up. I’ll probably end up on a cpap instead and I can accept that – just praying to find a mask that doesn’t make the rosacea worse and doesn’t make my claustrophobia horrible.
